Living in Puyallup

For the past five weeks Nick, Charlize, and I have been living in Puyallup, WA (near Seattle) for Nick's work.  We were finally able to move back home this last weekend.  It was a great experience but we are so grateful to be home and back near family.  We are really blessed because Nick's company was nice enough to pay for a nice condo while we were up there so Charlize and I could live with Nick instead of staying in Pasco, waiting for him to come home on the weekends, so we are really grateful for that.  It was like a mini vacation because this place had two swimming pools, two hot tubs, a small gym, and it was a gated community so I felt safe while we were alone during the day.  It was also nestled up against a wetland boundary so when we would go out for walks, it was just beautiful greenery and you could hear the birds and smell the fresh air.  It was pretty nice.
Here are a few pictures of the place.

And here is an amature video showing the inside of our pretty sweet condo:

While we were living here, we really enjoyed going on walks, especially at night.  Right before we came home it started to cool off at night so I bought Charlize a beanie to wear (it is a little big on her, but still cute).  So, I had to throw this picture in to show how cute she looks in her new beanie, all ready for her evening stroll.

Labor Day Weekend

Over Labor Day Weekend, we decided to stay up there and do some sight-seeing and shopping. On Friday, my parents and Colt and Addi were able to pass through on thier way to the San Juan Islands so we all went up to Gig Harbor. It was nice weather so we just walked around the harbor.

This is one of many jelly fish we saw when we walked down the dock between all the boats.
There were several of these small ones--about the size of a small pancake.

This was a pretty big jelly fish right at the start of the dock.  It was about the size of a big dinner plate.  I think it looks a lot like an egg (see the yellow yoke in the middle).

After a long morning of walking, we decided to have lunch.  We ended up at a Mexican restaurant, which I think is pretty ironic considering that we were right in the harbor and we didn't have sea food.  But, I was not complaining, I prefer Mexican over sea food anyway.

This is Colt messing with my camera, just asking for me to post this silly picture of him!

After lunch I headed back to Puyallup and they headed up to the San Juan Islands to stay in a cabin over the weekend.  I hope they didn't freeze!

Later that night, out next guests arrived.  Nick's cousin and his family came to stay with us for the weekend.  It was so much fun to have four adults and six kids stay in a cozy little two bedroom condo! All the kids slept on the living room floor, like a big sleep-over party and the guys stayed up late playing nintendo.  Saturday we spent the day in Seattle shopping and visiting Pike's Place Market.

We had just seen a sea lion swim by, so we were all watching and hoping to see other wild life.

It was a really fun weekend and we were grateful for a break from the long drive back to the Tri-Cities every weekend.

  1. I LOVE HER BEANIE!! Where did you get it? Do you mind if Charlize and Jocelyn were twins this winter? She looks adorable in it!
